Giving Back: AVer Sponsors an After-School Program
AVer Information, Inc. is a proud sponsor of Active4Youth, a Spokane County based nonprofit organization, with a mission to provide youth with a safe place to play after school. This organization provides an after-school sports program for low-income and at-risks youths, who wouldn’t normally have this opportunity. Helping to keep youths off the streets and give them the chance to participate in sporting and leadership programs, which have been shown to help build character, responsibility, and improve school performance.
The Active4Youth sports program helps to promote physical health as well as healthy childhood and youth development. With increased cuts in funding, Active4Youth was created to serve the underprivileged youth by providing a physical fitness after-school program. Nationwide more than 38 million youth participate in sports programs. Every youth should have access to an after-school sports program, which is why Active4You created this free program for youths, and now serves over 4,200 students in Spokane County.
“We take great pride in our commitment and partnerships with our local schools. We are excited to sponsor Active 4 Youth, a sporting program which helps keep at-risk and low-income youth off the streets and engaged in sporting and leadership activities in Spokane County, WA. With this $5,000 donation, we will help fund the purchase of t-shirts that will be provided to all participating students,”
The donation AVer is providing will be used to fund the program itself, along with providing t-shirts for youths, which will be handed out to the participants at the All City and All Valley Cross Country Meets. This will give participants a sense of community and accomplishment for working hard to compete in this event. AVer’s support will help Active4Youth with the resources to continue to provide youths with healthy activities and a safe place to go after school.
