AVer Appoints Wei-Ming Chi, Ph.D as Vice President of Technology EDU
AVer Information Inc. today announced that 17-year IT industry veteran Dr. Wing-Mei Chi has joined the company as Vice President of Technology EDU. Reporting to Arthur Pait, President of AVer Americas and Head of EDU Global Business, Dr. Chi will play a key role in leading AVer's technology strategy as the company pursues its next phase of growth and leadership across three classroom technology solutions– interactive flat panels, document cameras, and charging solutions.

Dr. Chi joins AVer from Halliburton-Production Solutions where he was Global Technology Director and Chief Technology Manager. He developed technologies such as on/off shore structural designs and analyses, heavy machinery automation, and electro-mechanical intervention system. Previous to his Director and Chief roles, Dr. Chi was a Senior System Engineering Manager at Alcoa Technology Center where he oversaw a $2B commercialization process of new primary aluminum production technologies. He received his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering/Computational Mechanics at Stanford University and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering/Structural Mechanics at Cornell University where his research has been collected by ASTM and FEMA.
Over the span of his career, Dr. Chi has received many awards including the GE Managerial Award, Exponent Excellence Award, and Outstanding Research Award by the Japanese government. He has also been elected as an International BiTS Workshop Committee Member.
